How to raise a smarter baby
All babies are smart and intelligent. It is your job as parent to bring out the best in them.
Babies are most receptive to knowledge and are like sponges waiting to be wet. In their time of infancy there a lot of practical things you can do that can improve their future vocabulary and make them think the smart way.
Using sign language with your baby is a good start. You can have different signs for activities such as eating and sleeping. When making your child eat you can make an eating gesture constantly. Then, when it is his usual time for eating you can make that gesture again. Soon you will notice that your child will make that gesture whenever he/she feels hungry.
Read to your child. Not just before sleeping but even during the day time. You can read basic baby books as well as grown up novels. This helps the baby to form pronunciation and annunciation skills. It also makes it easier for them to pick up new words.
Talk to your baby like a grownup. You should make the habit of occasionally speaking to your baby like a grown up. You should use properly formed sentences and introduce your child to new words. Even though it will happen often that your baby does not understand, it will increase their grasp of new words and later on improve their vocabulary.
Have constructive toys for your child. The variety of toys available these days is enormous. When buying a toy, always look for one that is constructive and educative. Instead of buying action figures or barbies all the time, you should buy more constructive toys such as lego sets or puzzles. These kind of toys bring about creativity in your child. You can help the child build objects from legos and then watch as your kid amazes you with his own imaginative creations!
Finally, always encourage creativity and be encouraging of what your child does
